MARKS 19th YEAR WITH SEVEN-STATE TOUR

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 4, 2005) – Highlighted by a return to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine and a first visit to Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series embarks on its 19th year of racing in 2005. The schedule includes 13 events at 11 tracks, covering seven different states from Maine to Delaware. The schedule includes short tracks, superspeedways and a season finale on the 1.53-mile road course at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn.

Once the season is complete, the top 15 drivers in the point standings will be invited to compete in the third annual NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown. The Toyota All-Star Showdown is a special post-season event that also includes the top 15 drivers from the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series, which competes under the same rules and car specifications as the Busch North Series.

Since it was founded in 1987, the Busch North Series has been a training ground for many of today’s top NASCAR stars. 2004 NASCAR Busch Series champion Martin Truex Jr., of Mayetta, N.J., raced on the Busch North Series from 2000-2003, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Ricky Craven, of Newburgh, Maine, was the Busch North Series champion in 1991. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series crew chiefs Pete Rondeau, Greg Zipadelli and Frankie Stoddard also began their careers in the Busch North Series.
